A Fine Mess We’re In

The 1% are doing awesome. They’ve gotten a fat tax break, don’t have to worry about pollution and workplace safety, and assume that hiring everyone in sight will keep people happy.

Meanwhile those people’s wages are low, and most can barely afford housing. If they’ve bought a house using a “happy” mortgage, front loading interest, they’re worried about property values. That makes them anti-minority, given they’ve been told minorities can reduce those values.

People didn’t get less racist because they felt like it. They were told to, in schools, churches, and from the bully pulpit. Now Trump tells them it’s different. So racism kicks up again.

On one side, the plutocrats grasp of resources leads most people to struggle. On the other, anti-immigrant and racist fevers lead them to embrace Trumpism.

Why shouldn’t the new era’s richest be distributed more widely? The only way to do that is through taxation. Trump’s tax cuts go the opposite direction.

The great sin of America is the plutoctrat strategy to divide the 99% using ethnicity and culture. You know what the wealthy are terrified of? Centrism. Because most people are centrist, whatever they label themselves. If most people just voted their perspective, this system would be very different. It would be centrist, balanced, tax the rich, have decent, affordable education, and balance rights and responsibilities.

The banks wouldn’t be nationalized, people could use public or private insurance, and broadband would penetrate everywhere. Sensible stuff, like gun control, not gun abolition. Use your head.

Until we figure it out, we’re in a mess.
